Beer Candied Pecans

A delicious dessert or flowers to a woman’s heart? Well us craft beer women love desserts paired with beer and food cooked with beer. Anything beer really. We love getting flowers just because, but on Valentine’s Day it’s extra special to get a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers! Yes, they are a waste of money, but they are down right gorgeous! How about we mix the two and create something romantic for Valentine’s Day! The men buy the gals flowers (they have it easy) and in return, we make them an awesome dessert to share! It’s a win-win.

Okay so for Valentine’s Day this year we decided to give Crème Brûlée a whirl. So fancy! We have never made this dessert before so we use Pioneer Women’s recipe! To top the dessert and to take the crème brûlée even further, we made our own beer candied pecans! These would be great topped with any dessert and we thought that crème brûlée would pair perfectly!

First click here  if you are interested in making Pioneer Women’s Crème Brûlée! Follow all the steps. We used a tad bit deeper ramekins for baking. These took a tad longer to set than the half hour recommended in the recipe!

Now onto the beer candied pecans to top your favorite dessert! We used a seasonal stout from Stone Brewing Company, Xocoveza Mocha Stout!  This beer has a ton of flavors which include:  cocoa, coffee, peppers, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg! The ABV is 8.1 %. We describe this beer as a flavor bomb! You only use a little bit of the beer in the pecans so enjoy the rest of the beer with your dessert and your special someone, beer sharing is the best!  You can experiment by using any of your favorite stout style beers in these candied pecans!

3) Once the pecans are roasted mix in your wet mixture to the pecans stirring so all pecans are coated. We recommend cooking just a little longer to get these pecans some flavor!
